about

[LATER - since the paragraphs below were written, this album's track-order has reverted to the way I originally wanted it - ie much of what follows is irrelevant]

Another one like the previous one - this one is both samier and more varied - it's samier because (unlike the previous one) I knew what I was trying to do and so everything was trying to sound the same - but it's more varied because I failed. I like it all the same. The tracks are in the wrong order - if I followed my heart/passion/instinct I'd have the first track inserted into 4th place and let everything else fit in around it, but because I and everyone have no attention-span any longer then I have no chance of catching anyone's attention, not even a second, so maybe just the instinct that the current first track is the most "immediate" will attract a new visitor, maybe even a new listener, possibly (oh mad crazy heady dreamer that I am) a new follower. But really, I always prefer albums where the best things come later. And I was/am strong enough to leave the 2nd-best track till the end. So I've not been a total wimp.

.................................

Oh what to do - the forecast is all showery - I wish it would either pour all day like yesterday, so I was "forced" to stay at home all day and make this album - or else a forecast of hot ceaseless sunshine, when I'd walk to Salisbury. Instead, I don't know what to do - "sunshine and showers, with thunder" - what can you possibly do on a day like that ? So it's either the 8-30am bus yet again to Calshot, or a walk to Gosport (mainly hard unmuddy surfaces) or the 9am train to London to walk to Chelsea and then over to Wigmore Hall for the lunchtime concert of nice songs. Or stay at home and make yet another album like this. And mad crazy heady dreamer that I am, I will probably just end up staying at home all day yet again, making yet another album like this one - the problem of near-endless possibilities, and hark at me, secretly yearning to do almost nothing.
