about

Given a one-second random-skim this sounds horrendously repetitive and simple. I love repetitive and simple, and also horrendous. And because I like this sort of thing so much I've actually dipped in and heard bits of it for even a minute or more, and I realise that it's not as simple as I thought - somehow it changes speed about halfway through - the changeover (27'-ish) is a little clunky, and I prefer the earlier/slower half of this piece to the faster second half. Also there are some uncongenial parpings which for anyone who doesn't like discordant things might grate a bit. I don't know. This is a weird one. It sounds like I've tried to placate the people who will hate a piece of music that goes bang bang bang bang by tweaking it in places to make it "interesting", and yet every effort to seem interesting in music always fails. But maybe here it hasn't. But surely it has. Oh god, how can such a simple offhand slapdash piece of music leave me so worried, my life has become THIS aimless ?
