about

best played quietly

Yesterday morning I sat on the upper floor of Cafe Nero in Romsey and ate chocolate cake and drank tea with a friend, in the afternoon I spotted another friend closer to home and we went to Halladays and we both had big slices of lemon cake and big cups of coffee. This morning, just passing the Chinese New Year celebrations, I was spotted and went with the flow, for coffee and cake. Tomorrow I go to a friend's and I know we will eat cake and a pot will brew. That exhausts my friends and it already overspills my annual allowance of cake. No one knows or cares that I make music or anything like that, the only interesting-ish thing about me is that I don't eat cake and I never drink tea or coffee. Going-out is what kills us. When I drank alone at home for decades I never had a wrinkle or an ache and I looked young, now I do the things the government tells me to do about socialising and activity and creativity and being friendly and kind and I look a thousand.
