made in a hurry, not heard it, no idea if I like it, it may vanish when I hear it and realise I don't - recorded this morning, painting/smearage by me
(LATER - well I made this thing in a huge hurry this morning and pressed "publish" without knowing what it sounded like, it just seemed to have a safe shape on the computer screen, the waves going up and down regularly so the beatings must be in line with our needs. And after a busy time flaffing about outside I got home this evening and am now hearing it, yes the volume is so high that it actually hurts a bit, it is quite piercing, but I think it was worth doing, it's just about "weird" enough to have a point, and yet those waves make it feel like something you've heard a million times before, which is like everything ever made in the last 50 years, so that's what we want. The stats suggest that a couple of people have visited today, it looks like someone actually downloaded it for free, and you are very welcome, you won't find me moaning about people using up my free monthly allocation of downloads, my musical career is still far too fresh and new for me to have enough popular interest for that sort of troubling nonsense - indeed I seem to be going backwards - the graphs peaked in about 2015, and ever since then it's been like a slow puncture, my body is falling to pieces, my mind is filling with fog, the graphs are coming back down to earth, it will all come to nothing on the same day - I really hope that's true, I couldn't bear it if one thing witnessed another thing's total failure - if something kept on throbbing with desperate life, while another thing just got cold and rotted.)
she says this is the last album she'll make like this before she goes off and makes stuff with Lana Del Rey - so just for this moment we have Kathy to ourselves - (yes I love Lana's music too) Simon Aulman
