Lots of apologies owed - sorry for the continuing ludicrous overproduction, guess I'm too hyper, the only medication that ever worked (booze) isn't good for me at this age, so I've got to ride it out, absolutely no worries if no one wants to ride alongside me. Sorry that this is one of those albums that no one likes - distorted loud locked-groove gtr. But I do like them, and they are the most challenging to make. Finally sorry for increase in postage cost - I've only just noticed that the stamps have gone up. As for details of the actual physical product - the usual - 7-track CDR with one bonus track not on any download, all as hand-made and hand-painted as can be, inner made from a random mag page, ltd to 4 copies.

about

Annoying loud lofi distorted gtr - these are my favourite types of albums, even though they are commercially suicidal, and the fact that I make them from time to time is surely the sole reason why I am not rich and famous.

Actually they are just about the only ones that people say they like or even listen to. And when I say "people" I sometimes mean more than just me. Looking back I think that my favourite of my own albums on Bandcamp are things like "Songs Of The South Downs" and "Julia Hartley-Brewer At King Tut's".

They're surprisingly hard to make. Whereas you can make a long ambient album in seconds, I find that a distorted noisy gtr album needs lots of tinkering. And it's all about trying to find the sweet spot between total anarchy and total locked-groove discipline, the former is harder than the latter - I've noticed that when I tell VLC to play my favourite million tracks in random order it always plays the same 30 tracks over and over, getting anything or anyone to be totally random is perhaps impossible. Routine needs less work than spontaneity.

Yesterday I became even more boring than usual and found myself taking out my camera to show a friend photos of some of my recent paintings - like me and like everyone at this age we have all suddenly taken up painting - and at one of them she stopped and said "what's this one meant to be?" - and well, I don't really know - I suppose it started off trying to be a landscape, but the clouds were bluer than the sky and so I tinged them red and gave them stalks and they looked like flowers but the grass looked like sea so I'd tried to do some fish but they looked like holes and so maybe it was a golf course with blue grass .... oh I don't know - nothing is meant to be anything is it - all it was was her looking at the backside of my camera and asking What's It Meant To Be and me telling her it wasn't meant to be anything, that is what it was meant to be, what was happening was what was always inevitable, there could be no "meant" about any of it, this is what this is meant to be, what it is what it is what it is

recorded on acoustic gtr yesterday, tiny bit of battery-piano, cover painting by me yesterday
